Flower Arrangements For Weddings

Flower Arrangements For Weddings
The setting sun fills the sky with purple, gold, pinks and blues. White clouds turn pink then deepen to crimson as the sun sinks towards the horizon. Recreate that look in a bouquet of fresh flowers. Start with the lighter colors at the top of the bouquet and deepen them as the flowers progress down toward the bottom of the arrangement. Use the freshest flowers possible. Arrange a sunset bouquet which shows the last tinges of pink turning to purple while most of the sky turns a dusky blue.
Remove the leaves from the stem. There isn't any green in the sky so you don't want any green leaves showing in your sunset bouquet. Leaves under water will rot and cloudy the water as well.
Use darker blue flowers as the majority of the bouquet. Iris works well so does the purple of campanula and lisianthus. Cut the stems in three different lengths and place in the vase. If the vase is 12 inches tall, then cut the blue flowers so the stems are 14 inches, 16 inches and 20 inches. Start with the tallest stems and crisscross them to form a support for the remaining flowers. Add in the stems of the mid-size and shorter blue flowers.
Group three stems of pink mini carnations and cut the stems to 19 inches. Place the three groups of three stems in the vase equal distances apart, one in the center and the two others off to the sides. There should be blue flowers in between the carnations.
Cut the stems of the sprays of pink roses to 17 inches and place between the mini carnations groups and to the front. Leave some blue flowers between the roses and the mini carnations.
Cut the stems of the dark pink spray roses to 15 inches and place in front of the pink roses. There should be blue flowers between the dark pink roses and light pink roses. The blue flowers are the evening sky and the pink flowers are the clouds in the sky reflecting the setting sun.
Cut the stems of the roses 13 inches. Place the yellow rose in your hand. Surround the yellow rose with the copper roses. Place the five bronze roses around the copper roses. Place this round group of roses in the front of the vase. There should be no other flowers showing between the roses. The yellow, copper and bronze roses mimic the sun.
